I was born and raised in Anson, TX. Graduated from Hardin-Simmons in 1973, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1976 with a Master of Divinity degree, then in 1992 I graduated with a Doctor of Ministry degree. I've pastored churches for 40 years, starting in Memorial Baptist in Taylor, then Belmont Baptist in Abilene. I then pastored at First Baptist in Seymour for 7 years, and then Colonial Hill Baptist Church in Snyder for 20 years. I am married to my wife LaQuita, and we have two daughters, Amanda and Laura
Lavada Starr has been the church secretary since 1989. Lavada has four children, thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great children.Lavada loves working for the church.
